Done with Cancer (treatments)

Today was my last radiation treatment (yea!) I am done, done, done with cancer treatments!!

When I got home from the radiation treatment Jim surprised me by putting banners in the living room. He actually scared the shit out of me....when I opened the front door he screamed "YEA!"......I practically jumped out of my skin! He also gave me a gift card to Ruth Chris so I can celebrate with a nice steak dinner! (I love me some ribeye!)

Being done with all the treatments feels like an early Christmas present. It will be nice to wake up tomorrow and not have to go get radiation shot at me.

My post cancer treatment life will be a series of follow up appointments with the oncologist. I have a CT scan scheduled for 1/28/2010. I will be getting a CT scan like every three months...then eventually every 6 months. If I am cancer free for 2 yrs I will be considered "cured".

Two Face

I am almost done with the radiation treatment. I have 4 more days - so - I will be done on Thurs 12/17 (yea!)

One of the side effects of the treatment is redness in the area where they shot the radiation. So - right now it looks like I have a bad sun burn on the left side of my neck and jaw (and it feels like a bad sunburn). Am told that it will fade about a week after my last treatment. My throat hurts a little when I swallow - but - so far not as painful as they said it might get.
